BorderLive
Privacy Policy
What this is
BorderLive is operated by Calle Dos Agency. This page describes what data we collect when you use borderlive.us, why, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.
Effective May 8, 2026. We will update this page when our practices change; the date above will reflect the most recent revision.
What we collect
Border wait times: We poll the U.S. Customs and Border Protection feed and the Canada Border Services Agency feed every five minutes. This data is public, attributed to those agencies, and contains no personal information.
Email addresses: Only when you sign up to be alerted that a port has dropped below your threshold. We store the email, the port you watched, the threshold, your language preference, and timestamps used to throttle delivery and let you unsubscribe.
Server access logs: Our hosting provider (Vercel) and database provider (Supabase) keep standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) for security and operational purposes. We do not run our own analytics on these.
Anonymous usage analytics: We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to measure page load performance and aggregate page views. These do not use cookies and do not identify individual visitors.
Google Analytics 4: We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for traffic analysis and conversion measurement. GA4 sets cookies (notably _ga and _ga_*) that contain a randomly-generated client identifier and stores hashed IP addresses on Google's servers. Data is retained for 14 months. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, by enabling Do Not Track in your browser, or by blocking cookies from googletagmanager.com.
What we do not collect: We do not track your location beyond city-level (from IP), do not run advertising-retargeting trackers, do not sell your data, and do not use third-party social pixels.
How we use what we collect
Email addresses are used solely to send the alerts you signed up for. We never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties. We do not send marketing.
Aggregated wait-time history is used to compute statistics shown on the Stats page and per-port "best time to cross" forecasts. These contain no personal information.
If you click an affiliate link on a port detail page (Mexican auto insurance via Baja Bound on Mexican-border crossings, or Wise multi-currency for cross-border spending), the affiliate partner receives a referral identifier. We do not share your email or any other identifying information with them.
Where it lives
Email signups, port observations, and aggregated statistics are stored in a Supabase Postgres database in the U.S. (us-west-2 region). Application code runs on Vercel's global edge network. Email delivery uses Resend.
How long we keep it
Wait-time observations: indefinitely; they have no personal data and form the historical record that powers stats.
Email signups: until you unsubscribe via the one-click link in any alert email or by emailing us. After unsubscribe, we keep a record of the unsubscribe to honor your preference but do not contact you again.
Server access logs: Vercel and Supabase retain logs per their own policies (typically 30 days for full request logs).
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from alerts at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email or by emailing hello@calledos.agency.
You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, request correction, or request deletion. Email us at hello@calledos.agency and we will respond within 30 days.
Children's privacy: BorderLive is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify subscribers via the alerts email channel.
